A Sinking Submarine With Two Roles
Sync Or Sink puts two players inside an old Cold War submarine that is going down. One person handles repairs and systems, the other relays information and guidance through a walkie-talkie. You never see each other, so the voice link is the only way to work. Tasks pile up fast: fix malfunctions, manage limited resources, keep engines and compartments running, and read codes back and forth until the job is done. The sub fills with rust, steam, and shadows as time drains away, and every second spent guessing pushes the flooding closer.
How A Group Plays It Together
This is built for exactly two people over online co-op, so your group needs to pick a pair and commit. One player takes the hands-on role inside the sub, the other stays on the walkie-talkie side, feeding codes, calling out hazards, and talking their partner through the maze. The crackling radio means short, clear calls beat long explanations. Whoever is listening has to trust what they hear and move, because there is no shared screen or shared view to fall back on. When something breaks, the talker identifies it and the doer fixes it, then you swap focus to the next failing system before the clock runs out.
Before You Start
Go in knowing the pressure is the point. Flooding compartments, failing engines, and fraying nerves all stack up as the timer drops, so expect mistakes to have consequences you can hear and feel. The game is in Early Access, so systems and content may shift while it is being built. It leans dark and tense with horror undertones, so it suits a group that wants a stressful co-op run rather than a relaxed session. Bring patience for the walkie-talkie format: if one of you talks too much or too little, the whole run suffers.
