A farming sim with an RPG spine

Sun Haven is a fantasy farming game where you turn run-down land into a working farm while also running quests, fighting monsters, and digging through mines. There is no stamina bar, so your day is limited by the clock rather than an energy meter. The four seasons each bring their own weather and effects, and you manage three separate farms, each with its own crops, fruit trees, and animals. Livestock ranges from cows, chickens, sheep, and pigs to silk moths, baby griffons, phoenixes, werewolves, and tar slimes, plus pets and mounts that follow you around.

Alongside the farm work there is a full RPG layer: combat with swords, crossbows, staffs, and spells, armor to buy and upgrade, food that raises your maximum stats, and a large skill tree covering combat, exploration, farming, fishing, and mining. Each skill goes to level 70, after which you can buy skill elixirs at the Sun Haven Town Hall or craft skill tomes at an anvil. The mines work on floors you unlock temporarily with rusty keys or permanently with smelted keys, with a chest waiting on every 10th floor.

Playing together in a group

Sun Haven supports online co-op for up to 8 players, and you can share a single farm with the whole group. Characters keep their own inventories and experience levels whether you use them in singleplayer or multiplayer, so nobody loses progress by switching between modes. Furniture and decor items can be traded between players, which makes decorating a shared house or farm a group activity.

The story runs across four areas — the medieval town of Sun Haven, the elven forests of Nel'Vari, the monster city of Withergate, and the underwater Brinestone Deeps — each with its own items and recipes. A group can split up: some people farming, some fishing, some pushing mine floors, and some taking on bosses. The Combat Arena lets you fight through several boss types alone or with friends for loot.

What to know before starting

Every playthrough is customizable through in-game settings: you can change day length, make yourself invincible, turn off seasonal pests that eat crops, or switch weather effects off. That matters for a group, since players who want a relaxed session and players who want pressure can agree on settings before starting.

There is a lot of optional content to pace yourselves with: 23 marriage candidates across the four towns, dates and a family after marriage, over 130 fish for the fishing minigame, more than 40 crafting tables, hundreds of furniture and decoration options, up to 8 customizable houses plus over 30 sheds, seasonal festivals with exclusive shop items, and a museum that takes trinkets from fishing, mining, foraging, and fighting. Character creation offers seven races and ten starting professions, and the Sun Haven Salon lets you change your appearance later.
