Chasing Twisters for the Best Shot

Storm Chasers puts you behind the wheel of a storm-chasing vehicle in an online multiplayer game. Your goal is to forecast and intercept tornadoes, then get close enough to snap the best photos without getting killed by powerful winds and flying debris. The game is in Early Access, and it blends driving, photography, and simulation with a first-person perspective.

Playing Together Against Other Chasers

You can play solo through singleplayer missions that teach the basics, or go online to compete against other players. The competitive modes are 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, and 4 vs 4, where you race to reach the optimal vantage point before the other storm chasers. The game includes several mechanics such as Photography, Outbreak, and Tornado Control.

What to Know Before You Start

The map is big and detailed, inspired by Tornado Alley landscapes, with changing weather conditions and time of day. Tornadoes have realistic physics with strong winds that destroy props and buildings. Your cars come equipped with weather radars to spot storm activity, and you can deploy Tornado PODs with a flat base to measure wind velocity and direction at ground level.

Photos are scored by a complex evaluation algorithm that considers distance, focus, and visible debris. You get an image gallery to manage your photos and share them on Steam. There is also an editable online FM radio station to listen to inside your car, and you might spot flying cows.
