Build your own spell combos
Spellmasons is a turn-based tactical roguelike where you assemble spells and make them interact. The spell system is the core of it: spells alter each other, so a single cast can set up the next one. Cast Swap on an enemy and the rest of your combo lands where you used to be standing, which lets you line up several enemies and finish them with one damage spell. Runes add another layer, letting you specialize a build — a plague mage spreading curses, or a necromancer who copies himself on teleport and raises fallen enemies to fight for him. Spells get more expensive the more you use them and cheaper as turns pass, so the game keeps pushing you to try something different each fight.
Play with your friends online
You can run the whole thing solo or join friends in online co-op. The faction-based turn system means everyone on your side takes their turn at the same time, so nobody sits around waiting for the next player. That also means friendly fire is very much a thing: you can drag a friend out of a near-death situation, or blow them up by accident. Multiplayer supports as many players as your machine can handle, with a community session reaching 13 at once; six or fewer is the comfortable recommendation. Remote Play Together is available if you want to share a session that way.
What to expect before you start
This is a deliberate, thoughtful game. Plans take time to set up and you are meant to think carefully before committing mana. Champion-ranked enemies raise the difficulty with modifiers like Growth, which makes them stronger the longer they stay alive, and Slime, which lets them clone themselves — both punish sitting on your usual strategy. The runs are roguelike, so death ends the attempt and you start again with fresh ideas. Expect to experiment, discover spell combinations that behave in unexpected ways, and occasionally push past your mana limit for a big play.
