A top-down wizard survival run

The Spell Brigade is an online co-op Survivors-like from Bolt Blaster Games. You pick a wizard, drop into a top-down arena, and hold out against huge waves of dark creatures while the screen fills with projectiles. Between waves you grab upgrades and push your spell build further, aiming to survive as long as the run allows. It plays like a bullet heaven: movement and positioning do most of the work, and your auto-firing spells handle the damage.

Playing as a team

Runs support 1-4 players online, so you and your friends each bring a wizard into the same fight. You take on the horde together and work through random team-based objectives, then upgrade your spells as a group. The friendly fire is fully on — your spells hit everything, including the people you came to help. Fighting side by side has real perks, but you will step on each other's toes, so coordination and a bit of care with where you aim matters. Your deaths are not the end of the run: Revive Cores let you blast yourself and your teammates back into action.

Building spells that get out of hand

Your spells can be improved, augmented, and infused with different elements and upgrades. On top of that sit Enchantments, Quests, and Scrolls, and the number of wizards in your squad changes what a build can do. Stack these together and the combinations get loud fast — the point is to assemble a spell setup that clears whole crowds and then see how far it carries you. Between the objectives, the shared upgrades, and the friendly fire, no two squad runs tend to end the same way.

Before you start

Expect a busy, colorful screen full of your own projectiles and your teammates', since everything on the field can hurt you. Plan for a run where positioning, reviving, and picking upgrades as a group matter as much as raw damage. The developer is active with a roadmap and posts dev content weekly, so the game's systems may shift over time.
