What Spectromancer is
Spectromancer is a turn-based fantasy card game where two mages duel by summoning creatures and casting spells. You pick one of six mage types: Clerics, Mechanicians, Necromancers, Chaosmasters, Dominators and Illusionists. Each mage works with five magical elements during a duel: Fire, Water, Air, Earth, plus a fifth element tied to that specific mage type. There is no character leveling and no grinding, so the outcome comes down to how you play your cards each turn.
Playing together
You can duel other players live online, and the game also supports Remote Play Together. Matches are one-on-one, so your group takes turns facing each other while everyone else watches and reacts. The campaign lets you play against the computer when you want to practice or work through challenges on your own.
Before you start
The game is described as fast-paced and skill-based, with matches that force you to watch every turn of a card. There is no deck building, so you work with the spells your chosen mage brings to the duel rather than assembling a deck beforehand. Difficulty scales across multiple levels, and the challenges get tougher in multiplayer. Expect a long campaign with hundreds of challenges, and note that the game is tagged as difficult.
