What Space Elite Force is
Space Elite Force is a 2D side-scrolling space shooter in the old-school arcade tradition: handcrafted pixel art, fast phases, dense waves of aliens and big boss fights. You fly a ship through an alien invasion and push to save Earth. Between levels you spend time on weapon customization, picking from a wide variety of weapons, enemies and ship upgrades, so each run can feel different depending on how you build your ship. Achievements are scattered through the game, and each of the three modes has its own online ranking.
Playing it with friends
The game supports local cooperative play for up to two players, so you and a friend sit on the same screen and take the fight together. Co-op needs at least one joystick, so have a controller ready before you start. If your group is scattered across Discord, Remote Play Together lets one person host and the rest join in from there. Controls are fully compatible and the game also works with controller setups, which suits the arcade feel.
Three modes to pick from
Normal Mode is the classic experience: the story campaign, working through the levels and trying to stop the invasion. Hardcore Mode is for players who already know the game — you get a single chance to clear all levels, so mistakes end the run. Infinite Mode is score attack, closer to a classic arcade cabinet, where the goal is climbing the ranking with your best score. Pick Normal if you want to learn the game, Hardcore if you want pressure, Infinite if you and your friend want to trade high scores.
Before you start
The game is available in English and Portuguese, so check which language your group prefers. Expect a linear structure with intense, fast-paced sections and boss encounters that demand your full attention — bullet-hell density is part of the design. It runs on a difficulty curve that rewards practice, so a first session on Normal Mode is the sensible way in before anyone attempts a Hardcore run.
