Build whatever you can imagine
SimplePlanes 2 puts the building tools first. You assemble planes, cars, forklifts, propeller aircraft and more from procedural parts, with enhanced wing and fuselage pieces for shaping the airframe. Wings can be set to real NACA profiles and the flight physics have been overhauled, while improved fuselage editing opens up a wide range of shapes. The procedural powertrain parts add engines and drivetrains with detailed physics, so ground vehicles are as much a project as aircraft. Paint texturing and engine tuning let you finish a craft properly: adjust colour and texture with the paint tool, then get into size, cylinder count, transmission and other engine settings. Missiles are built the same way, from a blank procedural part where you set size, guidance type and visual details.
Fly, drive and fight with friends
Multiplayer runs online with co-op and PvP, supporting up to nine other players, or more in a private lobby. You can race each other, kill each other, cooperate, or just hang out and test crafts against real people instead of bots. The new SimplePlanes Archipelago gives you 787 square kilometers of terrain above and below the water, 330 kilometers of roads, Vetusta City, airports, a race track, rivers and forests to move through, with water graphics and physics for taking to the seas. Volumetric explosions handle the destruction side of things when the missiles land. You can also get out on foot as Major Chad and stretch your legs alongside other players.
Before you start
Stock crafts are available from the beginning to load, tune and reverse engineer if building from scratch feels like too much, and there are 40+ more hidden around the map to find. Community content is a big part of the game: over 1,000,000 crafts can be downloaded for free, including ones made for the original SimplePlanes, which are supported through backwards compatibility. Old crafts may not behave exactly as they originally did, so expect some quirks with decade-old designs. Input is flexible, with mouse/keyboard, controller and HOTAS all supported. The game is in Early Access, so things can change as development continues.
