SHRIMP GAME: OVERKRILL is a third-person shooter RPG that takes place in a decaying underwater world. You pilot a Submersible Hydrodynamic Research Integrated Marine Platform, known as a SHRIMP, and push through sunken ruins filled with horrific sea creatures. The campaign mixes exploration and puzzle rooms with heavy combat against bosses like volcano-bound hermit crabs and kaiju-sized electric eels, plus swarms of betta fish, dust crabs, and hostile sea sponges. The tone leans retro and funny, but the setting stays atmospheric and Lovecraftian. A watery Drum N' Bass soundtrack with over a dozen songs runs under the whole thing.
Playing together with your group
You can run the entire campaign solo or with up to 6 pilots in online co-op, so a full Discord group can travel the depths together. Between runs, the game turns on its own crew: PvP modes let you krill your friends in Shrimp Royale, Shrimp Tag, and Boss Mode. Pick your role before you drop in. There are 6 base elemental powers, and combining them opens up around two dozen fusions such as Magma, Smog, Moon, Demon, and Bone. Each of the 11 SHRIMP Platforms has its own strengths and play style, so a group can cover different roles instead of everyone running the same build.
Before you start
Combat is dense with projectiles, so expect bullet hell and bullet heaven style fights where positioning matters as much as aim. Your loadout comes from over 2 dozen weapons, ranging from heavy cannon shots and shotgun blasts to machine-gun projectiles, each with stat upgrades and rarities to chase. Outside of fights, you will explore cryptic domains, solve puzzles that hide treasures, and meet eccentric characters with their own motivations while trying to restore an underwater realm on the brink of destruction.
