What Abyssus is
Abyssus is a first-person shooter set in the ruins of a sunken civilization, where a rare substance called brine powers everything. Your team of brinepunk explorers is sent to claim a massive deposit beneath the old kingdom, but the corrupted inhabitants rise against you and the job turns into a fight for survival. Combat is fast and responsive, with a heavy emphasis on gun feel. Runs are built from over 70 hand-crafted levels that get sequenced differently each time, so no two dives play out the same way. Along the way you face 36 enemy types and 12 bosses.
Playing as a group
Abyssus supports online co-op for up to 4 players. Cooperation is the core of the experience: pick loadouts, skills, suits and weapon mods that complement each other rather than stacking the same thing. Positioning and coordination matter as much as raw firepower, since the game is built around tactical teamwork through a roguelite gauntlet. Between runs you keep meta progression, unlocking upgrades and new tactical options that carry forward.
Before you start
Expect a build-crafting layer alongside the shooting. You have 9 weapons with 45 weapon mods, over 140 Ancient Forge mods for weapons and skills, and more than 250 Charms and Blessings to assemble a build around elemental and mystic effects. Character customization is available both before a run and during it. The setting is underwater and atmospheric, with a brinepunk aesthetic mixing diving gear, ancient technology and divine powers. Firepower alone will not carry a team through the depths, so plan your roles before you drop in.
