What SHRIMP GAME: KRILL CONFIRMED is

SHRIMP GAME: KRILL CONFIRMED is a third-person looter shooter RPG set in a decaying underwater world full of horrific sea creatures and Lovecraftian bosses. It works as an introduction to SHRIMP GAME, and you play it solo or with others. You pilot a Submersible Hydrodynamic Research Integrated Marine Platform, which everyone just calls a SHRIMP. There are 11 different SHRIMP Platforms to pick from, each with its own strengths, play style, and personality, so the machine you climb into shapes how you fight. The campaign takes you through two deadly dungeons and their massive bosses, from volcano-bound hermit crabs to kaiju-sized electric eels, plus swarms of smaller threats like murderous betta fish, dust crabs, and hostile sea sponges. Outside the dungeons there is an underwater realm on the brink of destruction to explore, with ancient ruins, puzzles hiding treasures, cryptic domains, and eccentric characters who each have their own motivations.

Playing it together

The whole campaign can be fought through in multiplayer co-op with up to 6 pilots, so a full Discord group can run the dungeons side by side. On top of co-op, there are chaotic PvP modes for when your group would rather fight each other: Shrimp Royale, Shrimp Tag, and Boss Mode. Between those two ends, you can also just wander the depths as a smaller squad, poking at ruins and puzzles at your own pace. The game carries a watery Drum N' Bass inspired soundtrack with over a dozen songs to travel to.

Classes, weapons, and builds

Combat is built around six base elemental powers with fusion potential, giving around two dozen different element combinations such as Magma, Smog, Moon, Demon, and Bone. Fusions let you shape a build around what your group is missing or what you enjoy firing. Weaponry runs past two dozen options, covering heavy cannon shots, shotgun blasts, and machine-gun projectiles, each with stat upgrades and rarities to chase. Pair a weapon with the right elemental class and the right SHRIMP Platform and you get a noticeably different feel from your friends' loadouts, which matters both in co-op and in PvP.

Before you start

Expect bullet-hell style shooting against large bosses and dense enemy swarms, with retro-styled visuals and a tone that mixes Lovecraftian dread with a sense of humor. It is free to play and tagged as an intro to the wider SHRIMP GAME, so treat it as a first look at that world rather than a complete arc. The underwater setting, dungeon crawling, exploration, and lore all reward taking time between fights to look around, so a group that only rushes objectives will miss a fair amount of what is down there.
