What SCP: Containment Breach Multiplayer is

SCP: Containment Breach Multiplayer is a survival horror game built on stories from the SCP Foundation. The setting is a facility called Site-[REDACTED] that holds anomalous entities known as SCPs. A catastrophic containment breach happens, doors open, and your goal is to get out of the facility alive. Everything is played in first person, and the tone is tense and violent rather than action-movie loud.

The facility itself is never the same twice. A random site generator builds a new site each time you play, so routes, rooms, and layouts change between sessions. The game also ships with a map creator, which lets you design, build, and play your own custom maps inside the game.

Playing it with your group

Containment Breach mode is the co-op side: you and your friends push through the facility together, with room for up to 64 players in a session. There is also PvP in the mix, since not everyone on the server is on your side.

The second option is Breach mode, a multiplayer mode where players take different roles rather than all sharing one goal. You can end up as facility staff, as guards, or as one of the anomalous entities yourself, and you experience the breach from that perspective instead of from the survivor's. It has 9 playable SCP entities at the moment, drawn from a roster of more than 30 SCP entities overall. The playable list is SCP-049, SCP-049-2, SCP-096, SCP-106, SCP-173, SCP-939, SCP-860-2, SCP-035, and SCP-966.

Before you start

Know that the game is labeled violent and includes horror and psychological horror content, so it is not a light pick for a group that dislikes that. The playable SCPs behave very differently from each other, and some of them become threats that other players have to survive, so expect uneven matchups in Breach mode.

Content and bug fixes are added frequently, which means the game keeps shifting under you: maps, entities, and balance can change between sessions. The developers say they prioritize community feedback, so things you run into may be addressed later. Custom maps from the map creator are available for use in game, which gives your group something to do beyond the generated sites.
