What SAYONALAIKA is

SAYONALAIKA is a first-person walking simulator built around memory and quiet reflection. You move through landscapes while events unfold around you, and the story starts with a simple, strange fact: your grandmother went to space and came back. After that the world began to spin, round and round, and the questions the game asks — what this country and society were meant to be, what the world was supposed to be like — stay open rather than resolved. The tone mixes the cute and the funny with an atmospheric, psychological edge, so expect a short trip that is relaxed on the surface and unsettling underneath.

How a group plays it together

The game is a singleplayer experience, so one person drives while the rest of the group watches. Steam's Remote Play Together feature lets friends join in on the session, which suits a title this short: someone plays, everyone reacts to what turns up in the landscapes. There is no co-op structure, no shared objectives and no competitive layer, so the group side of it is really about sitting through the same strange story together and talking it over as it happens.

Before you start

Progress comes from examining objects scattered through the world. There are no quest markers and no time limits, so nothing pushes you forward — you walk, you look, the story moves. The playtime runs 10–25 minutes, which makes it easy to fit in as a palate cleanser between longer games, and worth knowing if your group expects something to sink an evening into. It carries psychological horror and psychological tags alongside relaxing and atmospheric ones, so the calm pace does not mean the content is entirely gentle. Streaming is allowed without prior permission, for individuals and businesses alike.
