What Russian Fishing 4 is
Russian Fishing 4 is a fishing simulator with RPG elements and no storyline. You pick a spot, set up your tackle, and work on catching fish. The game currently has 18 reservoirs, each with its own weather conditions and its own set of fish, and more than 230 detailed species with more planned over time. Fish behave differently depending on weather, time of day and other factors, so the same swim can fish differently from one session to the next. You can move freely around the water bodies and fish either from the shoreline or from a boat.
Fishing styles and gear
Four types of fishing are implemented: float, bottom, spinning and marine. Each one has its own equipment and techniques, built on real fishing experience. The tackle selection is large, with hundreds of modern rods, reels and accessories to work with. Learning which fish live where, when they feed and what they respond to is the core of the game, and assembling the right setup for a target species is what turns a blank session into a trophy catch.
Progression and skills
Beyond catching, you develop skills in your chosen specialization and in related areas, including making your own lures, harvesting baits and cooking. Progress shows up in ratings, qualifications and statistics that you can compare against other players. The game also runs competitions and tournaments with valuable prizes, so there is a competitive layer if you want one. Content keeps being added over time.
Playing with your group
Russian Fishing 4 supports single-player and multi-player, including MMO and online PvP, so your group can fish the same reservoirs together. It works as a relaxed session: everyone picks a spot, rigs up, and compares catches through the stats and ratings. Steam Achievements and Family Sharing are supported, and the game includes in-app purchases. It is free to play, with no story to follow, so you can drop in and start fishing whenever the group has time.
