Illicit hydrojet racing
Riptide GP: Renegade puts you on an armored hydrojet in a future where the racing league has cast you out. Framed and forced underground, you race illegally through city waterways, flooded ruins, and churning factory machinery to reclaim your reputation and your title. The tracks are built for action: floating factory platforms, hurricane-strength waves, a military base in the midst of battle, plus interactive set pieces, dynamic obstacles, and secret shortcuts. Water physics keep the surface changing on every lap, so spray and waves affect how each race plays out.
Racing together
Career mode is the single-player path through races and boss fights, where you earn cash and experience to upgrade and customize your hydro jet, unlock new stunts, and improve rider performance. It also unlocks new vehicles, playable characters, and customization options as you build your crew. For playing with others, local split-screen championships support up to 4 players on one machine, and additional gamepad controllers are required for that. Online multiplayer runs 8-player matchups, and Challenge Mode lets you race against ghost recordings of your friends' best performances on the leaderboards. Remote Play Together is available as a Steam feature.
Before you start
Full gamepad integration is supported, which matters most for the local split-screen mode since extra controllers are needed. The hydro jets transform while you ride them, and the garage fills out as you win money to upgrade and customize each one. Steam features include leaderboards, achievements, and cloud data syncing to carry your progress between devices. The game is built from the ground up for modern desktop PC and console hardware, and it plays as an action-arcade racer rather than a simulation.
