What Kandagawa Jet Girls is
Kandagawa Jet Girls is an arcade racer set in near-future Tokyo, where athletes ride high-tech jet machines through urban waterways. Racing and shooting are mixed together: you steer through a course full of obstacles while firing water weapons at the other teams to knock them off the track. The game comes from the creators of SENRAN KAGURA, and it carries that series' colorful, lighthearted tone, including swimsuit and character customization options and content flagged as sexual in nature. Ryōna and Ryōbi from SENRAN KAGURA are playable for all players, with eight more shinobi appearing as premium DLC.
How a group plays it together
Each team is made of two Jet Racers with distinct jobs. The Jetter steers the machine through the course's gauntlet of obstacles, while the Shooter handles the water weapons and blasts opponents off the track. The pair coordinate to pull off speed-boosting maneuvers and pinpoint trick shots, so the two roles feed into each other rather than one person just riding along. Every other team has a Shooter too, so keeping your shields up matters as much as your line through the course.
For playing with friends, the online multiplayer supports casual or ranked matches against up to three opponents. There is also Time Attack, where you upload your best times and compete against records set by players worldwide.
Before you start
There are seven teams of two girls, and each team has its own multi-episode story arc in Story Mode, 64 episodes in total. Picking a team means picking a story you want to follow, not just a pair of racers. Races and challenges unlock hundreds of customization options covering swimsuits, hairstyles, jet machine skins, decals, and special effects. The inside of the jet machine is customizable as well, and you can tune its performance to suit how you drive, so setup work between races is part of the loop. Note that the game includes nudity and sexual content tags alongside its cute, anime presentation, so it suits groups comfortable with that.
