Running your own motorsport team
New Star™ GP is an arcade racing game with retro visuals where you manage your own team as well as drive it. You guide your team's technological development, plan race strategy, and take the wheel yourself. Career mode starts in the 1980s and runs through decades of racing up to the present day. Between events you choose car upgrades and staff perks, from sponsored car components to faster pit stops. Win a season and you move to the next decade with a new car and a new set of opponents.
Racing with strategy
Anyone can pick up the controls and have a good time, but there is real depth underneath. Tyre choice and wear, component reliability, slipstreaming, fuel load, and pit strategy all matter during a race. Races can throw up component failures, dynamic weather changes, tyre blowouts, and multi-car pileups. Career mode includes GPs, Elimination Races, Time Trials, Checkpoint Races, and one-on-one Rival Races across iconic racing locations around the world.
Playing together in split-screen
Championship mode works on your own or in split-screen with up to three friends, for 2, 3, or 4 players. Each player picks a car, driver, handicap, and play mode, plus any track. Points carry over from event to event, so one race or a full season both work. Remote Play Together is supported, so someone without the game can join in over a remote connection. There is also a Hot Lap challenge where you can chase a spot on the Steam leaderboards against other players' ghost cars.
