What Raw Data is
Raw Data drops you into Neo-Shinjuku in 2271, where the Eden Corporation owns the world and its robotic products hide something worse. You play as an elite operative of the hacker resistance movement SyndiK8, sent to infiltrate Eden Tower, steal as much Raw Data as possible, and get out alive. Along the way the truth about Chairman Shiro's "Promotion" program surfaces, and the mission stops being simple. The whole thing is built for VR from the ground up, so your body is the controller: you physically draw pistols from holsters on your body, swing katanas, pump shotguns, deflect projectiles, throw punches, and check your stats on a display on your forearm.
Playing together
You can go in solo or bring a partner into a shared co-op VR space. Because you both have avatars and motion tracking, you communicate the way you would standing next to each other — body language, facial expression, and blended animation do the talking while you cover each other against the machines. Co-op works across platforms, so a friend on a different platform can still join your session. The store text describes co-op as a two-person affair: go solo or team up with a friend.
Heroes and loadouts
Four heroes cover different fighting styles: Bishop the Gun Cleric, Saija the Cyber Ninja, Boss the Street Merc, and Elder the Rogue Hunter. Each brings advanced weaponry, special abilities, combat techniques, and an ultimate — slowing time, defying gravity, charging shots, crushing enemies, boomeranging blades, flinging foes into the air. Your arsenal runs from dual handguns and pump-action shotguns to iron knuckles and laser swords, plus deployable turrets and holographic shields for backup.
Hostile Takeover PvP
The PvP side is called Hostile Takeover: four hero classes with optimized abilities, balanced play, joystick locomotion, and stealth and armor powerups, fought across multiple king-of-the-hill maps in matches of up to 5v5. A Duel Mode for 1v1 showdowns is listed as coming soon.
Before you start
Expect heavy physical play — dodging, reaching, swinging — so clear some room. The enemy roster is varied and aggressive: stealth ninjas, laser gunners, rocket heavies, jumping crawlers, exploder bots, flying drones, charger mechs, ion beams, and towering megabots, so a partner watching your back helps a lot.
