Getting the ball out of the cup

Q REMASTERED is a physics puzzle game where the goal is simple to say and hard to do: get the ball out of the cup. You draw directly on the screen, and whatever you draw becomes part of the physics of the stage. Lines have weight, they fall, they tip things over, they block and they push. There is no fixed solution. The same question can be cleared in many different ways, and the developers themselves cannot solve every Q in the game. With 1,380 questions on offer, there is a lot of material to work through, and some stages ask you to interact with iconic characters such as a hero or a moai statue using your own drawings.

Playing with friends

The game is built as a singleplayer experience, but Steam Remote Play Together is supported, so one person who owns the game can bring others along for the session. Since the whole game comes down to drawing on screen and watching what the physics does with it, a group can take turns throwing out ideas, drawing something ridiculous, and seeing whether it works. That fits the tone of the game well: some attempts will fail outright, and the failures are often the funny part. There is also an 'IQ TEST' mode that scores you on Q's own criteria, which gives a group a shared number to compare after a session.

Before you start

Expect difficulty. The tags on this game include Difficult for a reason, and the short input of drawing a line does not mean the puzzles are shallow. The game rewards thinking about physics rather than searching for one correct answer, so try the first thing that comes to mind, then try something else. The in-game language can be set to English. The presentation is minimalist and hand-drawn, which keeps the focus on the puzzle itself rather than on graphics.
