A band of exiles fighting for freedom

Pyre is a party-based RPG from Supergiant Games, the creators of Bastion and Transistor. You lead a band of exiles across the Downside, a vast and mystical purgatory, taking part in ancient competitions. The story asks who will return to glory and who will remain in exile, and your choices shape the journey. The narrative branches, so no two players experience it in quite the same way, and there are multiple endings to uncover. Losing a Rite never forces you to lose progress; whether you win or fail, the journey continues.

Three-on-three Rites and party building

Each Rite is a high-stakes, three-on-three battle. You pick three exiles from your party for every Rite and outfit them with mystic Talismans and powerful Masteries. Battles are fast-paced ritual showdowns against a colorful cast of adversaries, and every victory or defeat brings your exiles closer to enlightenment. The presentation pairs vibrant hand-painted artwork with an evocative musical score, drawing you into the fantasy world.

Playing together and what to know

Beyond the single-player campaign, Pyre includes a local two-player Versus Mode where you can challenge a friend or a CPU opponent in the same fast-paced ritual showdowns. You form your triumvirate from more than 20 unique characters. Remote Play Together is supported, so a friend can join in over a connection. Controls are fully customizable and work with gamepad or mouse-and-keyboard, and the challenge scales in both the campaign and Versus Mode. After you finish the story, the 'True Nightwing' Campaign Mode unlocks, offering an ironman-style run with a unique set of rules, higher stakes, and greater challenge.
