Positioning Is the Whole Game

Pit People is a turn-based tactics game from The Behemoth, played out on a hex grid. You move your fighters across the board, line up attacks, and think about where everyone ends up after the move. The world is a hostile, apocalyptic wonderland full of sinister robots, deadly vampires, and brutally adorable cupcake people. Between fights you'll quest, explore, and dig up loot, then spend it customizing your fighters and recruiting strange species to fill out your roster. There are over 1,500 unlocks and more than 100 quests and missions to work through, all wrapped in Behemoth's signature art style and humor.

Playing With Your Group

Story mode runs solo, or as 2-player co-op both locally and online. If someone is already partway through the story, they can invite another player into their game as long as that player has the needed story character. For competitive play there's a local 2v2 Arena, plus online 2v2 in The Pit for 4 players. Remote Play Together is supported as well.

Permdeath Changes Everything

There's an optional permadeath mode you can switch on after the intro. Dead characters are dead for good and cannot be brought back, even if the story needs them. Resurrection potions are disabled and useless, so there's no gold spent on them. The game keeps detailed obituaries of your fallen heroes, recording their name, level, and kill count. If you run out of characters in your house, your saved game is permanently destroyed. Pick this mode knowing your friends may question the decision.
