What Panzer Arena: Prologue is
Panzer Arena: Prologue is an experimental tank PvP game built by a single developer. You drive a nimble little tank that can jump, dash and flip, and you use that movement to get around any kind of terrain. Boost and drift your way across the arena, climb things that look unclimbable, and use the invisible skybox as your playground. The focus is on movement as much as on shooting: if you master how your tank handles, no terrain is too difficult and no opponent can get away from you.
Combat is deliberate rather than spray-and-pray. Tanks have the thickest armor at the front, so holding down fire on someone's face does not work. You need to calculate your move, wait for the right moment, and strike from the rear. There are 4 weapons to choose from and a few abilities: dash, a dome, stealth, and an impulse dart that can launch you to even greater heights. Match your loadout to the situation — a shotgun against an aggressive opponent, a charge rifle against a shy one — or just freestyle and get creative.
Playing it with your group
The game runs on online PvP, so your group can queue up together and fight across the available modes. Free for All puts everyone against everyone, while Team Deathmatch splits the lobby into opposing sides if you would rather watch your friends' backs.
Duels is the mode built for a group sitting on the couch together. Two players go head to head while the rest wait, watch, or taunt. The winner stays on and the loser goes to the back of the queue, so a small group can keep rotating through matches without anyone being locked out for long.
Before you start
This project is highly experimental. It is developed by one person, so do not expect a steady stream of updates or content drops. Feedback is welcome and appreciated by the developer.
Expect a game where positioning matters more than raw trigger time: learn where your armor is strong, learn the abilities, and spend time in the movement before you worry about your kill count. The weapon and ability set is currently limited to 4 weapons and a handful of abilities, and the mode selection is Free for All, Team Deathmatch and Duels.
