A team tank shooter about positioning

Tyr is a multiplayer tank shooter where you pilot heavy-armored vehicles with unique capabilities. You take control of treaded and hover tanks alike, angling and positioning your armor to deflect enemy shots while rumbling or gliding across the battlefield. Each vehicle has its own armor profile, so how you face an incoming shot matters as much as how fast you react. Deliberate play beats whoever can fire the fastest, and run-and-gun tactics get punished by careful positioning and slow, deliberately placed shots that disable enemies.

Playing together as a team

Tyr is built around strategic team battles. Vision is asymmetric: you and your opponents are only visible when within range or while making enough noise. Positioning yourself correctly lets you see the enemy and spot them for your team while they cannot see you in return. Deciding when to push forward and when to fire from cover can mean the difference between staying hidden and revealing your position to the entire enemy team, so communication and patience with your squad go a long way.

Upgrades and abilities

Each vehicle has its own tech tree, ammo slots, and component upgrades, letting you evolve your ride to suit your playstyle. Maxing out a tank unlocks keystone tech variations that can change your personal meta. Every tank also has a distinct ability that shapes moment-to-moment play, such as blinking several vehicle lengths forward or back, sending out a sonar pulse to spot enemies, or overcharging the engine to ram an opponent for massive damage. Tyr is in Early Access, so expect the game to keep changing as it develops.
