What Paddle Up is

Paddle Up is a VR table tennis game with natural table tennis physics. You can customize your paddle with different types of rubber or go hardbat for more control, so the feel of your shots is something you set up yourself before you start. Beyond standard play, the game includes Bullseye levels that challenge your precision and performance, with new levels unlocking as you get better. There is also a "Beer" Pong mode as an added bonus, if you want to work on those skills alongside your regular table tennis.

Playing with your group

Online multiplayer lets you compete against your friends or against players globally. Voice chat is built in, so you can talk smack while you play. The netcode is optimized to handle play across continents with high ping, which matters if your group is spread out. When you want something other than a human opponent, Versus Robot gives you AI of varying skill sets, from casual to "don't even bother hard", and you can use those matches as practice sessions to improve.

Before you start

This is a VR game, so you need a VR setup to play at all. It is in Early Access, developed by Pavel Jamal, so expect the game to still be in development. There are several ways to spend your time: practice modes with automatic ping pong ball shooters, AI, or just you and the wall; the Bullseye precision challenges; online matches; and robot opponents. Customization covers more than your paddle — you can play in different locations, try on different hats, and play with fire balls (not recommended). Pick a mode that matches what your group wants, whether that is serious training or messing around.
