What Ludo Online is
Ludo Online is a strategy board game for two to six players, in which the players race their four pawns from start to finish according to the rolls of a single dice. Each player starts with four pawns staged in their own yard. A pawn only enters play from the yard onto its starting position when you roll a six. From there you move pawns forward by the number shown on the dice, and the first player to move all four pawns into the home row wins. Second and third places are settled by counting how many pawns each player has gotten home.
How a group plays it together
Two, three, four, five or six can play without partnerships, so everyone is out for themselves. Players can be human or computer-controlled, which means you can fill empty seats with the computer when fewer friends show up. You can play on the same computer or across the internet, so a group sitting around one screen works just as well as friends joining from their own machines. Remote Play Together is supported for playing over a distance.
Rules worth knowing before you start
Each player throws once per turn, unless they throw a six, in which case they get another throw. Pawns move forward by the exact number the dice indicates. You may not end your move on a position you already occupy, so plan which pawn you send where. If a pawn's advance ends on a square occupied by an opponent's pawn, that opponent's pawn goes all the way back to its yard, losing the ground it had gained. Sending an opponent back and protecting your own pawns on the way home is where most of the tension sits, so watch the board as much as your own dice.
