What Puzzline is
Puzzline is a board game for 2 to 4 players where you lay cards down so they connect like pieces of a puzzle. Every card carries two things: a shape, which decides where it can fit against the cards already on the board, and an effect, which fires off when it lands. Cards with stronger effects are harder to play, so part of the game is managing your hand and keeping it playable. The winner is the first player to empty their hand.
Some cards have effects you would rather not deal with yourself, and you can push those off onto the other players instead. That keeps the table shifting, since a hand full of awkward cards can turn around quickly.
Playing together
Matches run online, against people from anywhere, or in a private match locked behind a password. If a group is short on players, NPCs can be added to fill out the match. Beyond free-for-all, there is a 2v2 tag team mode, though that one is only available in online matches.
The deck you pick changes the whole feel of a game. Basic is the standard deck, while Chaos is loaded with random effects and Unstable leans on transforming and deforming cards. Expert strips the randomness out entirely. Explore is built around the extra "field" rule, Special is full of unusual cards, and Highlander runs every card with no duplicates. There is also a Custom deck type for building your own list.
Before you start
The shape rule is the core of every turn: a card only goes down where it connects to what is already on the board, so a hand of powerful effects is useless if none of the shapes fit. Balancing effect strength against playability is the skill the game keeps testing.
Deck choice matters as much as card play. Random-heavy decks like Chaos and Unstable produce very different games from Expert, and the field-focused Explore deck adds its own rule on top. Pick a deck that matches how much unpredictability the group wants, and remember that 2v2 play requires an online match.
