Searching for Darvin in a survival horror co-op

LockYourDoor is a first-person survival horror game for one to four players. You and up to three friends are looking for your missing friend Darvin, and the goal is to survive long enough to find him. The store text describes it as challenging: only the patient and the clever will succeed. As time passes, more threats show up and your small amount of light fades faster, so each session pushes you to adapt rather than settle into a routine.

Playing together online

The game supports online co-op for a group of up to four survivors. Together you explore your surroundings, confront threats, uncover the truth, and make strategies as a team. You can support each other to stay alive, or you can choose to betray: you don't need to die yourself, your friends can die instead. That makes the social side as much a part of the game as the horror. Communication matters, since you'll be splitting up to search rooms and deciding who risks what.

Keys, doors, and monsters

Each player finds keys for different rooms, and those keys lock and unlock certain doors for certain purposes. When night falls, you have to be ready for the nightmares in the dark. The game features multiple AI monsters, each with its own features, strengths, and weaknesses, so learning what each one does changes how you plan your moves. Darvin's notes and journal give you guidance and clues to follow, and a variety of items each serve their own purpose. Item and key spawns are highly randomized, so no two games play out the same.

Before you start

Expect a demanding pace: you need to plan your next move carefully and use Darvin's advice to handle new situations. The more you play, the more you learn what the items actually do. The developers warn that the game may contain violence, gore, and general mature themes, so it isn't suitable for all ages or for playing in a professional environment.
