Surviving the nightmare together
Paranoia Place: Escape Together is a survival horror game for 1 to 4 players online. You wake up isolated in a nightmare-like world with no clear way out, so your job is to explore large, creepy locations, solve puzzles and track down the items and keys you need to escape. The layout of each run changes: collectable items and keys always spawn in different locations, so no two attempts play out the same. While you search, a bloodthirsty demonic killer stalks the map. Its AI is unpredictable and smart, and as the run progresses it gets faster and angrier. Patience, attention to detail and a steady nerve matter as much as speed.
Playing with your group
You can go in as a full group of four or struggle through it alone, and the Steam features list online co-op for the campaign. Coordination is the core of the experience: split up to cover more ground, keep track of what each person has found, and work together to solve the puzzles blocking your escape. Proximity voice chat is built in, so what you say is heard based on how close you are to each other. That makes split-second calls across a room possible, but it also means the killer can be right on top of you while you are still talking. The game leans into hide-and-seek, so expect stretches of quiet tension broken by chases where everyone needs to stay calm.
Before you start
Four difficulty modes are available — Simplified, Normal, Hard and Insane — so pick one that fits how much punishment your group wants. The dynamic map system lets you see your dropped items, which helps when someone goes down or has to abandon something in a hurry. A special camera item gives you a chance to protect yourself when the killer closes in, so it is worth knowing who is carrying one. The game relies on 3D audio, so headphones will tell you where things are coming from. One thing to flag for your group: the game contains flashing lights that may make it unsuitable for people with photosensitive epilepsy or other photosensitive conditions.
