What Labyrinthine is

Labyrinthine is a first-person co-op horror game set in the abandoned Happisburg hedge maze. You solve puzzles, collect items and try to survive what lives in the paths. There are two ways to play it. Story mode follows Joan, a fairground worker, and takes you through the maze's history and its challenges. Case files are procedurally generated mazes that change every run and get harder as you go, so no two investigations play out the same. Alongside the standard case files there are hardcore versions that raise the difficulty and hand out exclusive cosmetics.

Playing it with your group

Everything runs on online co-op for 1 to 8 players, so a full Discord group can jump into one session. The game is built around teamwork and talking to each other: split up to cover ground, share what you found, and coordinate when something shows up. There are over 30 unique monsters, each with its own AI and mechanics, so you will need to work out how each one behaves rather than reacting the same way every time. Puzzles and item collection are the core loop between the scares, and the case files scale with your level, which keeps runs relevant as your group improves.

Before you start

Progress matters here. A leveling system unlocks 19 types of mazes as well as new monsters and maps, and over 200 cosmetics are scattered inside the mazes to find. Equipment is usable in runs, daily quests give you something to aim at between sessions, and there is an in-game store for equipment and cosmetics. Expect a tense, atmospheric tone with psychological and Lovecraftian horror rather than constant action, and expect the difficulty to climb the deeper you push into the case files.
