Walking into the maze

MAZEBOUND: Hunt, Gather, Run! is a survival horror game from Absam Studios. You start with boundless sea at your back and a towering gate ahead, and the only way forward is into the maze. Nothing guides you once you're inside. The maze is procedurally generated, so the layout you learn on one run won't save you on the next. The game is tagged as difficult and atmospheric, and the store text puts it plainly: expect to die a lot. You hunt, gather, and run, and everything you carry is something you earned yourself.

Playing with friends

Online Co-op lets you walk into the maze alone or with friends, and the game leans hard on that. The only allies you have are the ones you bring, so who you bring and how you plan together matters. One person tears branches for torches while another breaks crates for scraps, someone builds crude defenses while another lights the path. Splitting up gets more done but leaves people alone in a maze that is alive and watching. Staying together keeps the group safe but slows the gathering. There's no built-in guide telling you which approach is right, so the group has to decide for itself and think outside the box when the maze closes in.

Surviving what lives inside

Gathering is constant work. You craft weapons from wood, stone, and scrap, hunt for food, light fires, pick berries, and collect anything that helps you endure. Quiet stretches and good views don't mean safety, and lingering in one spot for too long is a mistake. The maze is populated by twisted beings shaped by hunger, curiosity, or something worse. Some crawl, some wait, some mimic what once was human, and you have to keep moving no matter what. Stealth, crafting, and exploration all matter here, and the horror comes from the fact that you are not the only one watching and not the only one starving. Go in knowing the run is meant to be hard, that death is part of the loop, and that your group's planning is the only thing the game gives you.
