A T-Rex with rocket boots
JumpJet Rex puts you in the claws of a T-Rex wearing rocket boots, and the job is simple to say: stop an asteroid heading for Earth. The game calls itself a "platflyer" rather than a platformer, because movement is built around thrust and flight instead of plain running and jumping. It's a 2D side-scroller with hand-drawn 16-bit graphics and chiptune music that aim for the feel of early 90s console games. The difficulty is deliberate — the kind of levels that take a few tries and feel good once you clear them, including retro boss fights.
Playing it together
Co-op mode lets you team up with a friend to take on the challenges, and the game expects teammates to coordinate their efforts to avoid mass obliteration. Beyond playing side by side, the time challenge structure gives you something concrete to compare: replay any level to chase a better time, then race your friends directly to see who posts the best run. You can also download ghosts of the best players worldwide and race against those records, so there's always a target to beat even when your group isn't online together. Remote Play Together is supported, which means one person can host and others can join in from their own setup.
Before you start
Expect a tough game. The levels are built to be strenuous, and the tag list includes "Difficult" for a reason — this is closer to old-school platforming than to a relaxed stroll. Levels are meant to be replayed, since times and collectibles reward multiple runs rather than a single clear. There are dozens of items scattered across the Galaxy and many secret areas to find, so exploration pays off alongside speed. Loot you collect also feeds into customization and upgrades, letting you change how your T-Rex looks — no two end up the same. The tags mix nonlinear and linear, open world and runner, so the structure varies across levels rather than sticking to one shape throughout.
