A complete four-episode sword-and-sorcery platformer

Tiny Barbarian DX is a 2D action platformer built around combo-based hack-and-slash combat, with retro pixel art and a chiptune soundtrack. The game is finished and ships with all four Episodes, each one lengthy, with dramatic boss battles and secret surprises tucked inside. Along the way you pick up hidden health power-ups, coins and mysterious diamonds, and each episode carries homages to classic 8- and 16-bit action games. The presentation runs in a 2.13:1 super widescreen format.

Playing together

The game includes a two-player cooperative mode, so a pair of you can run through it side by side and double your barbarian brawn. Steam's Remote Play Together feature is listed for the game, which is the route to take if you want to play with a friend who does not have it. Beyond co-op, there is the bonus game mode "vs. The Horde" plus top-secret unlockable game modes that open up as you play.

Before you start

Expect a relentless pace: cleaving enemies, plundering loot, and working through platforming sections between fights. The combat rewards learning combos rather than mashing, so give the moves a little room to click before judging the difficulty. The tag list marks the game as singleplayer, so treat the co-op mode as the exception rather than the default way to play. Everything else — the four Episodes, the unlockable modes, the collectibles — is there to work through at your own speed.
