A vertical climb with combat

JUMP KING QUEST is a punishment platformer where you climb The Heights, a huge vertical world full of chasms, false peaks and long falls. The charged jumping from the original Jump King is combined with a combat system inspired by Soulslikes and fighting games, so every ledge works as a battlefield. You play as a mudman of the "Redfin" generation, awake in the era of ARMABOGGIN, and fight your way upward toward The Smoking Hot Babe at The Top. There is no Game Over screen: getting knocked out just means you get back up and keep going.

Playing together online

Online play is dynamic. Strangers who are close by join your session to fight, jump and explore alongside you, and the system makes no distinction between friendly and enemy players, so anyone nearby can be a partner or a threat. You can create a party with friends to stay connected and help each other on the long journey up. There is also a dueling system with its own UI and resource recovery after matches, if you want to fight fair and square against other players. Offline play is possible as well.

Building your character

Your character is customizable with a unique visual style, and you combine over 200 equipment items with a choice of more than 90 unique weapons, each with its own moves, stats and special inputs. The leveling system uses four dualities based on the classical humours, asking whether you are Refined or Crude, Mettlesome or Guileful, which gives room for different builds and replayability. There are also 25 combinable curses that change gameplay significantly, though the first tier only unlocks after finishing the game. The world is interconnected and nonlinear, with boss fights and enemy-filled levels you can tackle in your own way, set to a score by the musicians of the original Jump King.
