Racing Gum Balls through generated obstacle courses

Gum Ball Run is a fast 3D platformer where you steer a Gum Ball through obstacle tracks built on the fly. Every track is procedurally generated, so the layout you learn in one race will not show up again in the next one. That means you improvise as you go: read the obstacles ahead, commit to a jump, and keep your momentum. The controls are built to be tight, which matters when a single missed landing costs you a place. Races are run in third person, and the look of the game is bright, colorful and playful rather than serious.

Playing together with your group

The core of the game is online PvP racing, with up to 15 Gum Balls competing in a single race. You can queue for ranked races if you want to climb the leaderboards and compare your skill against other players, or set up an unranked custom race so your group can run together without the standings. Since the tracks are generated fresh each time, everyone in the lobby is seeing the course for the first time, which keeps rematches from feeling like memorization. There is also single player obstacle track content if you want to run on your own.

Customizing your Gum Ball

Every Gum Ball can be recolored: the head, eyes and legs each take their own color, and you can mix them however you like. Cosmetics can be chosen freely, so your look is not tied to what you have unlocked. The game is in Early Access, and the developers note that there are currently 4 themes in the game, with more planned for later updates, out of an eventual 8 different themes for the procedurally generated tracks.

Before you start

Expect the course to change every race, so there is no fixed route to practice. If you join a lobby that is still filling up, you can run a procedurally generated obstacle course while you wait to warm up your jumps. The game is free to play, and it is still in Early Access, so content and tracks will shift as updates land.
