What Goblin Summer Camp is
Goblin Summer Camp is a multiplayer goblin simulator built around short mini games. You run, hide, tag and escape as a goblin, picking up power ups that stack as you play. The power ups are multiplicative and last for the whole game, so stacking the same upgrade over and over really shows: stack speed and you become a full throttle speed goblin, stack hopping and you bound over obstacles like a flea, going where rival goblins cannot follow. Each mini game has its own reward factor that lets you add another upgrade to your stack. The game is in Early Access and includes online co-op and online PvP.
Playing together
Goblin Tag is the main group mode. You try to escape into the Goblin Warrens without being caught, and each completed round gives you a choice of upgrades for your runner: faster, smaller, higher jumping, or deployables you can drop. Getting tagged sends you to the opposite team, where you help hunt down the remaining survivors using whatever upgrades you already earned. That keeps rounds moving and gives caught players something to do instead of waiting out the round.
Hide and Seek is the other social mode, where you pick a spot and stay quiet. When friends cannot find you, you can answer with a ‘REEE’, which is exactly as annoying as it sounds. Death Run puts everyone on the run and the goal is to stay alive without getting trapped.
Before you start
There are also single player speed run challenges: tests of skill and precision that unlock cosmetic upgrades for your goblin. Times are recorded in game, and the top runner's time is shown off in the Discord. Expect the upgrades to compound quickly, so a run where you commit to one direction, pure speed or pure jumping, plays very differently from a mixed build. Since players who get tagged switch sides mid-match, the balance of a round can flip as the tagged group starts using its own stacked upgrades against the survivors.
