A virtual jungle gym built for messing around
Goofy Gorillas is a 3D platformer and physics-based brawler set inside what it calls the largest virtual jungle gym. You pick from a selection of venues, each designed for different kinds of play, and jump into action-packed gamemodes with your friends. Between matches there's downtime to fill with smaller activities: Time Trial events, Four in a Row, the Gravity arcade game, and a set of achievements that includes some easter eggs. Playing gamemodes earns Goofy Points, which raise your level and show off your overall goofiness.
Playing together and against each other
The game supports online co-op and online PvP, so your group can team up or turn on each other. Matches can be tuned to your taste: you can build an all-out brawl using only Dodgeballs, or switch off every light and play Infector in complete darkness. Editing the gamemodes this way is a core part of the experience, and there are many ways to reshape how a round plays. Select events also carry leaderboards, covering Time Trial personal best times, the Gravity arcade high score, and overall Goofy Points, so there's something to compete for even outside a match. Positional proximity voice chat is included, which keeps talk tied to where you stand and, as the game puts it, may or may not turn Goofy into a horror game at times.
Before you start
Character customization runs on unlocks: hats, glasses, shirts, pants and footwear all come from playing, with some special items tied to completing easter eggs and achievements. Expect a casual, stylized and parody-flavoured tone rather than a serious competitive shooter — the game's own advice is not to hit each other too hard. Bring a group that enjoys parkour, physics silliness and tweaking rules until a mode feels like yours, and set aside time for the side activities and achievement hunting alongside the main PvP.
