A pixel fighter built around 枝江's cast

枝江第一舞斗会 is a small pixel-art fighting game where you take control of characters from 枝江. Two characters are finished so far, with more planned to join the roster later. The fights are short and light rather than demanding: controls are simple, the overall difficulty stays low, and the skill setups are written to be funny and full of jokes. Expect a casual, arcade-style 2D brawl with a colorful, cute look instead of a serious competitive fighter.

Playing together

The game supports local multiplayer, so two people can share a screen and fight each other on the same machine. Steam also lists Remote Play Together, which lets a friend join over the internet as if they were sitting next to you — one person owns the game and the others tag along through the stream. If nobody is around, the game includes artificial intelligence to fight against, and there is a singleplayer mode for playing through on your own.

Before you start

Only two characters are available right now, so the matchup pool is small until the extra fighters arrive. The game is free to play, which makes it easy to hand a controller to a friend and jump straight into a few rounds. It sits in the casual and indie space rather than the fighting-game tournament space: the point is quick, amusing matches with joke-filled skills, not frame-perfect execution. Genre tags cover action RPG, CRPG and combat elements alongside the 2D fighter core, so expect some RPG-flavored touches mixed into the brawling.
