One cut ends the duel

First Cut: Samurai Duel is a 2D arcade sword fighter set in feudal Japan where every strike is lethal. You slash, clash, parry, dodge, and send limbs flying. The core idea is simple: choose your move carefully, because the first cut is also the last. The fighting system is built around aiming your sword to block attacks and strike around your opponent's guard, parrying with your own blade, dodging to close the distance, and interrupting with a well-timed shove. It takes a minute to learn and a lifetime to master.

Playing together

You can duel friends in local multiplayer, or play remotely with Steam Remote Play Together. Beyond fighting other people, you can take on custom AI opponents, try to stay alive in Survival mode, and hunt down enemies in the Scenario mode campaign. Bonus modes add laser swords, custom blood, floating weapons, zombies, and more.

Before you start

Expect gore: heads and limbs fly, blood rains down, and it stains the characters and the environment. If you want less lethality, you can equip a wooden sword instead, which offers a little mercy and possibly a concussion. You can also customize your fighter with an array of options to wear, choosing and coloring each piece separately to make each character your own.
