A mystery solved through stat screens
ステータス確認探偵 is a first-person mystery adventure set in Omland, a parallel world ruled by stats. You play a rookie detective who gave up being an adventurer, and an incident at a bar he happens to stop by pulls him into his first case. Detectives in this world can peek into the stats of other people, so the numbers on a stat screen become your main evidence. You read those stats, weigh what they tell you, and use deduction to work out what actually happened. The story is told through choices, so the direction of your reasoning comes down to what you pick.
Playing it with friends online
The game supports online co-op. You invite friends into the session and go through the story together. The host handles all basic operations, so one person drives the menus and progression while everyone else follows along. Each player can open the logs and investigation materials on their own, which means nobody has to wait for the host to scroll back to a clue they missed. Everyone reads the same evidence and argues it out, then works together to uncover the truth.
Modes and what to expect before starting
There are three play modes. Easy reduces the number of choices, which suits a group that wants to keep the story moving. Normal is the standard experience. Hard adds the "Challenge to the Reader," which asks for a broad perspective and deep reasoning, so pick it only when your group wants to be pushed.
The main story runs about 2 hours, and Hard Mode takes longer. Finishing the main story unlocks substories: Extra, a sequel to the main story, and Another Episode, a new incident set in the real world. Expect a story-rich visual novel style of play built around logic and deduction rather than action, with a cute 2D presentation and a comedic streak alongside the mystery.
