A day in the life of a thug

G.O.P.O.T.A puts you in the shoes of a chubby guy with half a grand and a neighborhood full of people to bother. You play in first person, walking around the block and picking what to do next. The game leans on dark humor and satire, with plenty of memes and references scattered through the area. The store page lists a wide mix of genres, so expect a bit of everything rather than one single type of play.

What you actually do

Your day can go in many directions. Snatch a cell phone from the local bartender and take selfies with it. Head to the local shop for some sigs, then hang out with the homeless. Walk around and talk to the cops, and look for notes from your friend Sergei, the one you were drinking with yesterday. There is also the annoying neighbor who keeps playing his annoying music, and the utilities crew that does not want to do their job properly. The choice of what to do next is yours, and the game tags it as Choose Your Own Adventure.

Before you start

The Steam tags include Singleplayer, so the main experience is a solo one. Remote Play Together is listed as a Steam feature, which is worth knowing if you want to share the session with friends. The tags also mention Walking Simulator, Psychological, Perma Death, and Survival, so the tone can shift from casual and relaxing to something darker. Keep that mix in mind before jumping in.
