A Goat Loose in an Open World
Goat Simulator puts you in control of a goat in an open world and asks one thing of you: cause as much destruction as you can. It plays like an old-school skating game, except you are not a skater pulling tricks, you are a goat wrecking things. Points come from style, so a backflip while headbutting a bucket through a window scores more than a plain nudge. The physics are deliberately unstable and bug out all the time, including the goat's neck, and the game keeps those bugs in because they are part of the joke. The developers state outright that it is a completely stupid game.
Playing Together
The game carries a Co-op tag and a Local Multiplayer tag, so groups can share the chaos. It also supports Remote Play Together, which lets friends join in over a connection rather than sitting at the same machine. The point of playing together is simple: wreck things and brag about being the alpha goat.
Before You Start
Movement runs on WASD. Expect bugs everywhere, since only crash-bugs are being removed and everything else stays in. The developers note that the Mac and Linux ports are still in Beta and to expect problems. Steam Workshop is supported, so you can make your own goats, levels, missions, and game modes. The store text also warns that you can bug through the sky and crash the game.
