What Fragsurf is

Fragsurf is a first-person shooter built around movement. Surfing and bunnyhopping sit at the center of it, so most of what you do is carry speed through ramps and curves while staying in the fight. Strafing matters too — the way you steer in the air decides whether you keep momentum or lose it. The result is combat where positioning and speed are as important as aim.

The game is in Early Access and is free to play, so expect things to still be getting worked on as you play.

Playing with your group

Fragsurf has full multiplayer support, with online PvP and online co-op. You can go at each other in matches, or split off into the other gamemodes when the group wants something less frantic: tricksurf, kz, and speedrunning are all there for a more passive session. That mix makes it easy to keep a group together even when people want different things out of a round.

Making your own maps

Creators get a lightweight but capable level building tool, plus full Steam Workshop support. That means you can build a route, share it with the group, and have everyone running it the same night. The game is also moddable, so there's room to change things beyond the stock setup.

Before you start

Movement is the skill floor here. If your group hasn't surfed or bunnyhopped before, expect a stretch of falling off ramps and misjudging jumps before it clicks — that's normal, and it's most of the learning curve. The singleplayer side is there for practice when you want to work on a route alone before bringing it to the group.
