What Cyberfrags '69 is
Cyberfrags '69 is a fast first-person arena shooter with a cartoony cyberpunk look and a comic-book feel. You play as Cyber-Frank, who fights through waves of Cyber-Nazis that have invaded his home, using what the game calls a hyperspace arsenal. The single-player side is straightforward: move, shoot, and keep pushing forward. The game carries dark humor and plenty of gore, so expect a violent, over-the-top tone rather than a serious one. It's an Early Access title from D.A.S. Games, and the developer has said the project is being left as-is rather than actively developed further.
Playing it with your group
The multiplayer side is where a group gets value. Classic modes are on the table: Free-For-All, Capture-the-Flag, and Team-Deathmatch, plus Death-Relay, which puts a platforming twist on the shooting. Online Co-op and online PvP are both supported, so you can either team up against the game or fight each other. Maps are small, six players, which keeps matches tight and short. Guns and skins unlock as you play and can be taken into any match or level, so everyone in the group can show off what they've earned.
Before you start
Movement is the whole game here. Double jump, wall-run, and slide are core tools, not extras, and the game's own advice is that standing still is the fastest way to die. Expect a steep learning curve if your group is used to slower shooters; the small maps and fast pace mean you'll spend your first matches just getting used to the speed. The content is violent and gory with dark humor, so keep that in mind for who you invite. It's free to play, so there's no barrier to everyone in the chat grabbing it and jumping in together.
