A dark twist on a classic board game
Fox & Flock is a puzzle game built on Fox & Geese, the old game said to have been Queen Victoria's favorite. Here the setting is a ballroom: the whispers say a Fox is among the dancers, and the other dancers have to work out who it is before they get picked off. One side plays the Fox and tries to eat the flock one dancer at a time; the other side plays the Flock and tries to trap the Fox before the ballroom empties out. The tension comes from the fact that the Fox moves in plain sight among everyone else, so the Flock has to read the situation carefully rather than react blindly.
Playing it with your group
The game supports local multiplayer, so you can sit together and take sides at the same screen. One of you will be the Fox, and the rest make up the Flock, which suits a group where one person enjoys being the hidden threat while the others cooperate to corner them. Remote Play Together is also listed as a Steam feature, so friends who are not in the same room can join in through that. If your group has an odd number of people, the split between Fox and Flock still works, since the Flock is meant to outnumber the Fox.
Modes and things to know before starting
Alongside local multiplayer there is a single player mode, so you can practice on your own when the group is not around. The game is tagged as a puzzle, horror and board game title, and it carries a darker tone than the Victorian original it descends from — the Fox eating the dancers is the core of the threat, not a background detail. Expect short rounds where positioning and deduction matter more than fast reflexes, and expect to lose track of who is trustworthy as the Flock shrinks. It is a casual, indie title, so the rules stay close to the board game lineage rather than layering on extra systems.
