Build an empire from the ground up

DSS war party is a real-time grand strategy game set in a low fantasy world. You manage cities, set up production chains, and recruit vast armies to conquer the map. The game combines the global scale of civilization games with the urgency of real-time strategy, and it includes a real-time with pause mode. You construct and develop cities to support the war effort, assign tasks to workers through a priority-based queue, and set up resource management with a delivery system to keep materials flowing. Design your own flag, which determines the visuals of your soldiers, then watch the world turn into your color as your forces march to war. The world is procedurally generated, so each session plays out differently.

Play together on one screen

DSS war party supports 1-4 player local split-screen, in co-op or versus. Join forces with friends or end up as bitter enemies, since the diplomacy system is real and you can coerce others into joining your cause. Command your forces across the map while keeping them well-supplied and fed, and deploy various unit types, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Xbox controllers are required for local multiplayer. The game also supports Remote Play Together, so friends can join over the internet. A session runs about 4 hours, so plan for a longer sitting when you gather a group.

What to know before starting

The game is CPU heavy and does not depend much on your graphics card, so smaller maps reduce CPU load and multiple cores up to 16 improve performance. Keyboard keys can be rebound, and input works with mouse only, mouse and keyboard, or Xbox controller. Text size is adjustable, and there are no flashing images, no fast tapping, and no holding a button required. The game runs offline at 60 framerate, supports multiple monitors and any resolution, and does not support Steam Deck or big picture mode. Localization is machine translated for all languages except English. Content includes cartoon violence and cubes of blood, with still pictures of monsters and a person on fire; there is no gore and no sex or nudity.
