What Task Force North is
Door Kickers 2: Task Force North is a top-down tactics game where you command military Special Ops Teams in raids against a terrorist network in the fictional Middle Eastern country of Nowheraki. Missions ask you to rescue hostages, neutralize and capture terrorists, and clear buildings under real pressure. The game runs in real time with pause-at-will, so you can stop the action, rethink your plan, and let it run again. There are no turns, hexes, or action points to manage. The levels are non-linear and the environment is destructible, which means you can open new entry points with wall breaching charges instead of using the door in front of you. Threats include suicide bombers, IEDs, and Rocket-Propelled Grenades, and your toolkit includes Light Machine Guns for suppressive fire, Night Vision Goggles, and breaching charges.
Playing together with your group
Online Co-op supports up to 4 players. Each player brings their own Squad, and everyone works toward the same mission objective. Before the raid you choose your gear, draw your plans, and combine tactics with the rest of the team. The outcome is shared: you win or lose together. Remote Play Together is also available, so a friend can join from your session.
Units, missions, and content
You pick which unit to deploy on each mission. U.S. Army Rangers bring firepower, numbers, and coordinated violence. CIA Special Activities Division fields a small unit of covert operators who can go undercover or deliver surgical strikes. Nowheraki SWAT runs on grit, improvised tech, and gear borrowed from their US advisors. These are distinct playing styles with their own abilities and unit doctrines, not just different skins and weapons.
Content includes over 90 handcrafted missions, handcrafted and generated campaigns, a Random Mission Generator, and a full Mission & Level Editor. You can share what you build or play what others have made through the Steam Workshop, which also supports custom units and total conversions. Tours of Duty are procedurally generated and run alongside the handcrafted Operations, each with their own challenges and rewards. Iron Man Mode is optional: troopers lost during campaign missions stay gone for the rest of the campaign.
Before you start
The game is in Early Access, so content and features can change. The store text lists tags for gore and violence, and the setting is a modern military conflict with terrorist networks. Full Steam Deck compatibility and custom touch screen controls are included, so it can be played on the go.
