What Dagger Directive is

Dagger Directive is a tactical first-person shooter where you play as a member of Task Force Dagger, an elite international special forces unit. Missions take you across three campaigns set in distinct regions: disrupting an eco-terrorist operation in the frigid Bering Sea, fighting organized crime in the volatile South Pacific, and crushing an extremist uprising in Eastern Europe. Each mission is built as a tactical sandbox with objectives you can approach from multiple angles, plus multiple entry points, dense foliage, and tactical verticality in large open areas. The look is old school and retro, while the mechanics underneath are modern: bullets and shrapnel are simulated in real time with weight, velocity, and trajectory, so you have to adjust your scope for distance, lead moving targets, and account for ricochets. Even grenade fragments follow real physics.

Playing it with your group

The game has full co-op multiplayer, so your squad can coordinate, flank, and execute missions together. Before each op, the group picks equipment and decides the time of day, which shapes how the whole run plays out. From there you decide as a team whether to strike hard and fast or move like a ghost. The arsenal gives you room to split roles: over 25 weapons with a wide range of attachments, from underbarrel shotguns for breaching doors to suppressed SMGs for clearing angles to long-range setups for picking off targets at extreme range. Tactical gear rounds it out with deployable drones, anti-personnel mines, tripwires, and multiple grenade types, so you can combine tools to suit how your squad wants to handle an objective.

Before you start

The Early Access version ships with a 15-mission campaign spanning all three global theaters, full co-op, over 25 weapons with dozens of attachments, and a broad range of tactical equipment. Some systems are still on the way in future updates: a mission editor with Steam Workshop support, an expanded tutorial covering advanced weapons, tools, and stealth mechanics, a Free Play Mode for spawning enemies, allies, vehicles, and gear, and modding support for weapons and gear. Plan your loadout carefully, since controlling the environment matters as much as shooting: you can destroy lights, hide in tall grass, and stalk through shadows, and if you pick a night op you need to remember your NVGs.
