A 2v2 fighter with four players on one stage

Diesel Legacy: The Brazen Age is a 2D fighting game built around 2v2 battles, where four players share the same stage at the same time. The roster draws from a dieselpunk future: a robotic war machine, a rocket skater girl, a plague doctor assassin, a gangster with her goons, and more. Fights use punches, kicks, parries, guns, bombs, poison, fire, and ice. The stage has three lanes, so you can step into the foreground or background to reposition, escape pressure, or set up an attack. Each character fits a familiar fighting game archetype — brawler, rushdown, zoner, grappler, trap character — with its own mechanics, and special moves use inputs that newcomers can pick up quickly.

Playing together as a team

Your group forms two teams of two and fights on the same stage. Success comes from coordinating with your partner: cover each other, or commit to a double frontal attack. Both newcomers and veterans can team up, and everyone on the team has a role to play. Even after a KO, the fight continues — you take control of a ghost and can parry, burst, and attack to support your teammate. Online play uses RealMatch rollback netcode, built for competitive play and designed to hold up under high latency, transcontinental connections, and Wi-Fi. Any mix of local and online players works, so part of your group can be on the couch while others join from elsewhere. Voice chat is supported for calling out plays. Drop-in and drop-out lets you meet in a lobby, invite friends, and queue into any mode with friends or randoms.

Modes and things to know before starting

Story mode has a unique story for each fighter and can be played solo, on the couch, or online. Arcade mode is a classic opponent ladder with bosses and surprise challenges, and CPU teammates or opponents are available. Training mode includes frame data, hitboxes, recordings, and save states. Spectating lets you follow specific players, with unlimited live spectators and match controls; replays include hitboxes and frame data, and you can take control of a character to try a different decision. The setting is New Libertis, an industrial city ruled by FALCORP and its founder Hieronymus Frazer, whose New Babel Tower drains energy from the outer zones while workers, gangsters, brawlers, and mechanized "autos" live under it.
