What Duelists of Eden is
Duelists of Eden is a card-grid fighting game set after the events of One Step From Eden. You build a custom deck of spells and throw them at an opponent in real time instead of taking turns. Slashes, fire, bombs and other spells fly across the grid, so you are reading the board, aiming and managing your hand while your opponent does the same. There are over 14 characters, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, which pushes you toward different spell combinations and synergies rather than one correct build. The character roster and the pixel art keep the tone light and cute even while the screen fills with projectiles.
Playing together
The main way groups play is online PvP, with custom rollback netcode built into the game from the ground up to keep matches responsive. Deckbuilding sits alongside that: you save and edit an unlimited number of decks in the editor, so everyone in your group can show up with their own construction and swap ideas. The cardtridge and combo system rewards reading what your opponent has in play, so you adapt mid-match instead of committing to a plan at the start. Remote Play Together is available if someone wants to join a session that way, and local multiplayer may require a controller.
Before you start
Take the tutorial first to learn the basics, then use training mode to dig into the mechanics. Training mode exposes hitboxes and character states, and it includes quick deck edits plus speed modifiers so you can slow a spell sequence down and study it. Reviewing matches in replay mode is useful for spotting where a combo fell apart or where you got caught by a pattern. Keep in mind that the game is a real-time 2D fighter with bullet hell elements, so there is a floor of execution and spacing to learn before deck choices really start to matter.
