What Road to Legend does
Road to Legend is a companion app for the Descent: Journeys in the Dark 2nd edition board game. It takes over the overlord role, so it controls the monsters and runs the dungeon for you. Instead of one person playing against the rest, everyone at the table plays as a hero. The app drives the quests and lays out the dungeon in new ways, so the exploration feels different from a normal session of Descent.
How your group plays together
With the app handling the overlord, the whole group ends up on the same side, working through a series of fully-formed quests. You and your friends each take a hero and cooperate to push back the darkness in Terrinoth. The app keeps the monsters moving and the dungeon progressing, which frees everyone up to focus on their own hero and on coordinating with the table.
Before you start
Road to Legend needs the physical Descent: Journeys in the Dark 2nd edition board game to play; the app is the companion that runs the overlord side. If you already own Descent expansions, you can fold your entire physical collection into the quests. The app is listed with Remote Play Together, which gives your group a way to share the session.
